I'm sure you've seen this before here on oppo.. What happens when you give an E30 M3 to a bloke in a cold place quite far north? Well, if that bloke somehow stumbles upon a Toyota engine all bets are off, or should that be on? We're talking northern Europe here.. Anwho..

The thing I've noticed about engine swaps, it's only sacrilegious if the engine is Japanese. You could put anything in a Japanese car and everybody will say it's awesome, but put a Japanese engine into anything else and suddenly it's like you farted on the pope.

I'll be frank as fuck right now :) I don't give a shit if you put whatever into whatever, you do what you like with your car. But I've noticed the same thing as you, and I don't understand it. Sure a LS1 in a Nissan 240SX is awesome, but if you have a monster of a RB26 and stumble upon a 1985 Trans am with no engine.. why not combine them? The Firebird did in fact have a 90HP straight 4 from the factory (sure, you could have a V6 or a V8 as well). In my mind/world it would be pretty frigging awesome if someone put an VW R32 engine in a Ferrari 308, more power, better reliability..
Oh, long rant there. Sorry.. Shit on the pope all you want, I don't care. I love cars and engines. Fanboi I ain't.

I'd keep a E30 M3 with its original S14, so I'd say sacrilegious. However, I would be ok with swapping a standard e30 3 series, and giving it a body kit to make it look like a m3.

Putting a 2JZ in anything is not sacrilegious. It's only sad when you happen upon a Supra without it's engine, or one that looks ridiculous. Because not every Supra has to have >1000hp, a parachute and holes in the headlights.
